I can't believe how fast this year is going by. Some days I am fired up on cooking, another day training, another day my practices, but it never lands all on the same day it seems.
Since my last post I have continued plugging along on the Jamie recipes - last week I made the tagliatelle and broccoli with cheese sauce. It was ridiculous. I went to Market Hall and got freshly made whole wheat pasta and some heavenly fontina. The recipe had me do something I would never have thought of. You boil a pot of water then place a bowl over it so that it's balanced on the rim of the pot. You put in a good amount of the fontina, parmesean, creme fraishe, and let it all melt. Then you add fresh herbs and an egg yolk to thin the sauce. You throw in your brocolli and pasta for like 90 seconds, strain, stir in your sauce and done. The whole think took about 20 minutes simply because I had to grate the cheese and read the directions. Yummy...
I've gotten really inspired around the training. I have been working on my business standards and also my website. I am doing a lot of research right now, learning about what other people are doing, how they are marketing themselves, what they offer, what credentials they have. The more research I do the more confident I feel in that what we do is unique and also valuable and at the same time I can see a hundred ways to improve. It's exciting, I'm so grateful I'm on this path.
So some days I exercise, some days I meditate, never am I meeting my 1 hour a day of a combo. It's still my ideal but I'm wondering why I gave myself something that requires such a leap from where I was when I started. I am trying to make small changes that will add up to an hour everyday because really I know that's what I need for my health, sanity and spirit.
I hope everyone is staying inspired and motivated. If there is anything you need let me know.
Love,
Ali

Hi Everyone,
I am no longer a "blog virgin!" Hope you all are doing great on your commitments. I still need to figure out how to control my mind and body with weight loss (it is work in progress) Life is good and I am feeling grateful for the very small things.
I realized after reading my commitments that I should not have set it up with a negative consequence because I should be able to accomplish my goals driven by the love and respect I have for myself (which is also a work in progress)
I will accomplish my big goals and currently on tract to do so (except for my weight loss which I will get a handle on) and plan to do so without a negative consequence but rather out of love and respect to myself. I am sending love and hugs to all of you. Dar
PS
Thank goodness for spell check

Hi Guys!
I have been a stranger!
I joined 24 hour in San Ramon and the gym is awesome I have a lot of friends that are members so I am hardly alone and sometimes I workout 2 or 3 times a day. I love the classes like kickboxing and dance.
The family is doing really well and we have taken to family kickball games on Sunday afternoons with our friends and neighbors which is a blast!
This week has been tough for me to stay on track and I have not written down my calorie intake at all, I have spring fever!
We paid one credit card 2/3 of the way down so far! and I have lost a total of 9.5lbs. I am on track.
Take care all of you and I hope you all have a wonderful Easter full of love and friendship.

Jamie is helping me through...

Hi Guys,
The face to face check in is approaching so I better get this off my chest now since I won't be there. For the last two weeks I have really fallen off the meditating/yoga/pranayama commitment. I just can't seem to get still enough to do it. I have had a tough couple of weeks so instead I've held on to the Jamie commitment and let cooking his awesome foods help me work through my stuff. I have to say that when I was rolling out the dough for the pie it was probably the most therapeutic I've ever found cooking to be. By the end, I felt amazingly better. Last night after serving the winter veg cole slaw (Jamie recipe) and herb crusted chicken (yummy bake shop purchase) I finally felt somehow relieved of the anger that has been hanging around me. This morning Owen woke up without the incessent neediness that's been driving me crazy and I was able to sit on the floor and just be with him. Lots of hugs and kisses flowed and I felt like wow we are on the other side of this bout with negative energy that had taken a hold of me and my household.

Jamie's Cricket Ball Squash
Acorn squash stuffed with sun dried tomatoes mixed w/ olive oil and spices baked for an hour and then served with arugula & goat cheese salad. Another Jamie homerun, super easy & delicious. Owen couldn't get enough which was fun to watch and now I finally know what to do with the acorn squash and arugula that come in the box during the winter.
Meditation, yoga, and pranayama have been just ok, I've gotten my meditations in but the yoga and pranayama have been harder.
Training started March 4th. Our first day when really well. It's just amazing that we are really doing this!
That's all for now.

Another Jamie recipe down...Tuna ceviche with salad shoots, herb cresses and a kinda yuzu dressing...off the hook good. The dressing is lime, grapefruit, and tangerine juice mixed with fried garlic & ginger, sesame oil, and soy sauce. Ridiculous! I'm slowly but surely making my way through the winter section, out of 16 recipes i've made 6 so I have 10 more to complete before spring starts - woohoo!! I love this commitment :-)

Hey Hey!
I am on track so far and 100% on my daily stuff. Added 3 and feeling good about coming in 100% at end of year. The bread thing has been a bit difficult lately though. Not too bad. Shawn made the amazing looking grilled cheese sandwiches for Kate and Joci and I wanted a bit so bad. Been craving sandwiches lately but all in all not too bad.
Peace out

The second month is already coming to an end today, can you believe it!! I hope it is finishing strong for everyone. If you're falling short there are still 13 Hours left in the month and the week! GET ON IT!!!!
Pilar- How's the walking coming?
Dar- How is your money and weight doing? I hope the first is going up and the second is coming down.
G- How's the bread, yoga, Pranayama and reading coming?
Ali- Congratulations on the enrollees! How is your hour a day coming?
Shawn- How's your car look? Polished I'm sure.
Kath- Are you reading everyday?
Bev- Have you read "How to Win Friends...." yet? Are you studding?
Soph- I know your red meat commitment is in track. How is implementing your "Personal Gift" coming?
Mia- Great work on the cleans! How's the progress on the weight and credit cards?
JonnyT- How's the Meditating and new songs coming? Are you doing them together!
Great Work everyone!!! I'm so inspired by all the progress everyone is making. I have been right on track with my commitments. I thought I was going to be a little behind on my reading and when I added up the pages today it turns out I am exactly 30 pages ahead or 3 days. I was pleasantly surprised. As you may know I made a commitment to add a new commitment every month as well. In February I added, listening to a self improvement audio program each month. I completed that TODAY with "Get the Edge" by Tony Robbins. I'm adding in March- Meditate and write Gratitude everyday. I think this one is going to be big for me. I've been on the gratitude for almost two weeks now and the meditating for a week, so I feel good about adding them. I am feeling more centered because of my commitments and fulfilling them. I'm sure you all are as well.
I look forward to hearing from all of you. Have a great month and STAY ON TRACK!!! 2010 is the year for awesome growth and personal advancement!!!

Success is a process and a journey not a destination. It is who we become by keeping our commitments rather than the accomplishment of that commitment itself. Have fun living your commitments this month. By doing what you say, you have turned thoughts into things. When we create, that energy naturally flows out to others inspiring them to create. As we raise our level of consciousness to becoming creators and NOT competitors, we allow for any and everything we desire to flow into our life effortlessly because we have an appreciation for others getting exactly what they want, knowing we are all one!

Blog Update
Hi People!
I have made some changes to the blog in the hopes of keeping everyone connected. Hopefully the changes work. I tried to make it so that you will get an email when someone posts to the blog. Hopefully the posts will keep us motivated and on track.
I have been meditating & doing yoga M-F with the exception of the two days I was sick. I made another Jamie recipe - Carrot & Avocado salad - it was amazing although I used lemons off my own tree for the dressing and they were bitter so Eric saved it by adding in some store bought meyer lemons. I also remade the butternut squash soup and added in pearl barley which made it really hardy and we all loved it including Owen.
Our first training is starting next week - Launch 2010 - and we have it almost entirely booked! We have 9 people confirmed and 2 maybe's so we need to solidify at least one more but I'm confident its going to all come together. I'm really excited to get started :)
Keep blogging!

Hi All,
I've been doing the 20 minutes a day with the mediation, its hit and miss as far as keeping the mind quite but I found some stuff on youtube that seems to help alot. Maybe I should have the espresso after wards instead of before. I've been working on 2 of the 20 songs to learn this year alot lately, one is super challenging but as long as I work on small bits of it each day it progesses, if I dont it gets worse...funny how that works. As for the income goal with music, I dont think a few gigs a month is going to cut it at this rate..I've been thinking of ways to change that.
Talk to you all soon

Hi Guys
I can't believe January is gone!!! Where did it go..... I signed up to take a class with a nutrtionist that seems to have a lot of the same beliefs around foods as I do; fresh, Organic, and less meats more vegetables. The class starts tomorrow and it starts with a 28 day detox from all processed foods and lots of other stuff, like caffeine and alcohol. I also signed up for a cooking class at Draegers that she is teaching, I am looking forward to the class. My workouts have been great although waking up early to get to the gym by 6am is seriously tough. I can't wait for the season to end so I can hike and play tennis.
My meditations have been silly still.

Hey Guys,
Okay one month down and just 11 to go!! My first month was a success! I read 1 and 3/4 books for more than 310 pages in addition to reading the highlighted portions of The Slight Edge and a reread of about half of The Science of Getting Rich and several other multi page documents all on the subjects of personal growth, finance, health, etc...
I will be adding to my commitments this month and maybe adding a commtiment each month...hmmm, just thought of that one! It's a new month and I hope all of you are doing well on your commitments. Leaving for Hawaii tomorrow so should go WAY ahead on my reading since that is one thing I really like to do while I'm there.
Aloha!

Hi Everyone,
I've been doing great - a lot on my plate - both literally and figuratively.
I made two more recipes from Jamie's cookbook - both were awesome.
I missed one full day last week of my daily yoga/meditation/pranayama commitment. I jumped back on and having been doing more meditation along with the yoga which is good.
The big thing is that we did our first Launch 2010 orientation. I was really happy that we did it because I learned that what was up for people last year - money - isn't really up this year. We were inspired by our three (thank you Sophie and Mia) participants to change or next orientation to focus on creating a vision. It feels a lot better because I think that's what's up with the trainers too. Plus Mia gave me great feedback that I need to be a little tougher so I've been shopping for my power suit. Fun, fun...
The wellness program is also launching, I have my second meeting tomorrow to put together the program and it's all a little overwhelming but I'm enjoying all the creative energy. The key is to focus, not put too much on my plate and still have lots of fun!

Hi Guys
I've been busy with real estate since I got back from the cruise! I have been watching what I eat but did not get a workout in last weekend. My workout today was good and I stayed and did cardio after the weights. My mantra and meditation was silly since I could not quiet my mind but hopefully it will be better tonight.
I have not weighed myself this week but I will tomorrow and report back.

Launch 2010
Well it finally went out! Our first year long training invitation. I have been working on it for over a week and it still wasn't perfect but finally I just had to get it out there. I am so scared no one will show up to our orientations. If you get it and can think of anyone to forward it on to please do. The more people that see it the better. I guess I'll have to put in on my facebook since now there are so few emails that I have saved. It's like remembering phone numbers I lost the skill too when everything got stored in my cell phone.
I haven't cooked a think from Jamie's cookbook so tonight I'm making the butternut squash soup with homemade croutons.
Yoga/meditation/pranayama has been going great. I've gotten my hour in everyday so far and I found a great book for iyengar yoga sequences so my body feels really happy with all the stretching and strengthening.

So far...so good
Wow! This is exciting! I'm gonna love this blog. Now I just have to get used to using it.
Bev, I just read the Slight Edge...It was so good. It was just what I needed to start this year off on a good foot and turn a new leaf. I've classified it as one of my "Foundation Books"... To me a foundation book is a book that you contastantly read or reference and your use the principles of the book to create a strong foundation on which you build your life... I have about 5 of them. I intend to read each of my foundation 3 times each throughout this year.
About the BIG Commitments for 2010 that I've made:
No read meat or pork: so far, so good. It hasn't been difficult at all. I'm very suprised that I havent even craved either one. I've been doing yoga almost every morning- which is really contributing to a strong mindset towards being healthier and feeling better overall. I also signed up for training for a 5k race. It's exciting...all of these baby steps feel GREAT!
$6300 monthly budget: I'm in the process of reading Smart Women Finish Rish. Again..baby steps here. Reading this book is helping provide the clarity and understanding I need to create a paradigm shift in my thoughts and beliefs around money. I'm am doing the suggested exercises and worksheets in the book. Who knows??? Depending on what I uncover with my finances, I may just even LOWER my budget... more to come.
Discovering my gift: I haven't totally focused on this one yet... I have until the end of the month. I told myself that I would not procrastinate- eek! I'm procrastinating!
I have to get better at engaging in my vision EVERYDAY... I need to be ungulfed in it EVERYDAY... Enough about me, How are YOU doing???

Week 1
This week has been a challenge since I have been sick all week. I got a lot done though. Our team met twice, reviewed 2009 and planned 2010. One of the things we discovered is that we need to be more accountable...go figure. I have been working on my finances and am totally frustrated with my bank. I used to have Wamu and now am with Chase. If anyone has a suggestion for a bank I would love to hear from you. I did yoga on my own, sun salutations. Thank you Ali for the heads up on On Demand yoga. Ali and I met and worked on our training business.
Have you read the book "The Sight Edge?" It is about making small decisions every day that will either get you closer to your goal or farther away. Pretty eye opening for me. Check it out.

1st Week
Hi Guys,
This week has been difficult because I have been feelin' sick. I have been making it to my workouts and having some great planning meetings with my team.
I have been doing my mantras and meditation daily and I already lost 1 lb, only 44 to go!
I have been reading some books about food and formulating my true eating plan. I have really only implemented drinking more water and eating less sweets. I am looking forward to my cruise next week and when I get back I will have a new excercise and food plan to help me make my goals.
Financially, things are looking good. I may be able to pay off most of my biggest CC next week!!!!

Hi All!
I am a newbie to blogging but here goes nothing...
The first week of the commitments was awesome. I have 3 for 2010 - 1. Be a trainer running 2-4 year long training plus additional weekend workshops, wellness programs, seminars earning 8k per month. 2. Meditate, yoga, pranayama in any combination for 1 hr a day M-F except vacations. 3. Cook my way through Jamie at Home cookbook.
Well so far so good. I made one recipe the baby leeks and white fish from the winter section on Leeks. Jamie is right, leeks are under-rated and super yummy in their own right. I also read the section on gardening and was inpired to start my plan for what I want to grow in our small garden this year. I did one hour everyday except for today I've only done 13 minutes of yoga but it's only 4:44pm so I've got time. I'm finding that on demand has some great yoga videos that are helping me stay on track. I met with Shauna yesterday to develop a plan for the Wellness Program and today I met with my Mom to plan our orientation and marketing piece for our next training. Oh and I started this blog so all and all a great week!
