Wow! This is exciting! I'm gonna love this blog. Now I just have to get used to using it.
Bev, I just read the Slight Edge...It was so good. It was just what I needed to start this year off on a good foot and turn a new leaf. I've classified it as one of my "Foundation Books"... To me a foundation book is a book that you contastantly read or reference and your use the principles of the book to create a strong foundation on which you build your life... I have about 5 of them. I intend to read each of my foundation 3 times each throughout this year.
About the BIG Commitments for 2010 that I've made:
No read meat or pork: so far, so good. It hasn't been difficult at all. I'm very suprised that I havent even craved either one. I've been doing yoga almost every morning- which is really contributing to a strong mindset towards being healthier and feeling better overall. I also signed up for training for a 5k race. It's exciting...all of these baby steps feel GREAT!
$6300 monthly budget: I'm in the process of reading Smart Women Finish Rish. Again..baby steps here. Reading this book is helping provide the clarity and understanding I need to create a paradigm shift in my thoughts and beliefs around money. I'm am doing the suggested exercises and worksheets in the book. Who knows??? Depending on what I uncover with my finances, I may just even LOWER my budget... more to come.
Discovering my gift: I haven't totally focused on this one yet... I have until the end of the month. I told myself that I would not procrastinate- eek! I'm procrastinating!
I have to get better at engaging in my vision EVERYDAY... I need to be ungulfed in it EVERYDAY... Enough about me, How are YOU doing???

Hi Sophie,
ReplyDeleteLove your post! It reminded me of a book I just heard the author talking about on the radion on my way into work. It's called The Power to Prosper. It advocated a 21 day fast from spending so that you can get really clear on your relationship with money and get real about what you are actually needlessly consuming. I plan on getting the book asap. I've done cash only before but only for a few days max. This is cash only for 21 days and no spending except on food/gas/medicine. It's supposed to be transformative.
